Working Week

I am definitely not a morning person. But this year, I have decided as one of my new year's plans (the word 'resolution' is still too scary) that I want to try and become slightly more of one - that means not rushing about headless chicken-style and getting stroppy with my Love every morning before I leave the house, and also getting the earlier rather than the later train to work. I figured that one of the best ways to avoid the morning stress would be to plan my outfits the night before, and save myself the daily torture of rooting around my wardrobe desperately trying to fling something together that will work for work (as it were).

Work outfits have different requirements than weekend outfits: they need to be decent, for a start, so no cropped tops, no short skirt/bare leg combos, no cleavage (not that I ever get my baps out anyway), and nothing too clingy. They also have to be quick and easy to put on (so boots with millions of buckles and back-fastening jumpsuits are out), and be able to cope with my office's schizophrenic heating system (which does freezing or boiling, but little in between). I also try and avoid anything overly 'fashiony' for work - just because something is all the rage for SS'13 doesn't mean that my boss is going to appreciate it! And the final thing: even though my office is very casual, it wouldn't hurt for me to look a tiny bit professional during the week (especially as of next week I will be managing my own team...!).

So here is what I wore this week...

Monday - black: Crea Concept dress, Jean-Pierre Braganza jacket, black Office knee boots (not pictured)
Tuesday - casual: Topshop shirt and black skinny jeans (not pictured), H&M jumper, Russell & Bromley tan riding boots
Wednesday - print: Monki dress, Oasis jacket, Urban Outfitters lace-up ankle boots (not pictured)
Thursday - bright: COS skirt, H&M jumper and necklace, Topshop navy chunky platform shoes (not pictured)
Friday - cosy: working from home in my dressing gown!

So far it seems to be working in reducing my morning stress, as I knew that there was no need for outfit stress or last-minute ironing... do you plan your outfits, or do you freestyle it every day?
